A new mixed-use project is hatching in East Downtown, or EaDo.

Andrew Kaldis, who is behind several restoration projects around Houston, is redeveloping a warehouse property into a new community-focused mixed-use project called EaDo Workspaces, according to the Houston Chronicle. Spaces at the development, at 3420 Rusk, will be available to rent from 250 square feet to 5,000 square feet.

The project will include an outdoor seating area and a reconditioned shipping container, as well as two buildings that are expected to house video/photography studios, Kaldis told the Chronicle. Interested tenants range from a hair salon to a marketing firm. EaDo Workspaces joins a growing redevelopment trend in EaDo.

The co-founders of cafe Tout Suite recently opened The Co-Op HTX, a 10,000-square-foot modern co-working space. The Co-Op HTX and Tout Suite will occupy the entirety of the building at 2001 Commerce St. Co-founder Anne Le chatted with the Houston Business Journal in Septemberabout Houston's need for more co-working space.

Craft beer brewery Sigma Brewing Company LLC opened at 3118 Harrisburg Blvd. a few months ago after announcing its concept in 2015.

Houston-based Rebellion Photonics Inc. moved into a new office space in East Downtown earlier this year, as it expects to roll out a new product line to detect gas leaks at refineries and offshore drilling rigs.
